Sorry I haven't posted on here Deb.

I have not done very good lately and I guess you could say that I am ashamed to come here and post if I don't have any good news to report.

You and Dan have been wonderful and Katie is NOT holding up her end of the deal.

The only thing good I can say is that I have cut way down and I have even been running with my step daughter at her practices twice a week. I am starting to feel like my old body is getting in shape..........not by any means in shape but I FEEL every muscle in my body right now and that gives me hope to start making more progress towards that goal.

I have a pretty high stressed job and I need to think of another habbit other than smoking to help relieve my stress. Okay I will quit with the excusses...............Deb thanks for checking in on me. That means alot.

Love,
Katie

Katie...kick that shame to the curb girl!

Personally my addict thrives on shame, it's a green light to keep doing what I know is killing me.

And remember, you're addicted to the most addictive substance[s] on the face of the Earth.

Be gentle with yourself, and understand your addiction.
Knowledge is key!

In regards to stress, I can think of nothing that stressed me more than
continuing to smoke as my friends were dropping dead from cancer, emphysema, etc...
I knew I was next!

You're here and that's peo-active, no reason for agologies....you *are* holding up your end of the deal....by being true to yourself.

Don't worry about what we think, or what you think we think.
We know exactly where you're at and what you're going thru.

FYI.....I think you're going to beat this very soon!

Like Dan say................."Dont worry about what we think or what you think we think"

We have been where you are at right now. I had quit smoking for a month and a half and took one puff off a cigarette and away I went for 2 weeks. I have since quit again and let me tell you...it is much harder the second time.

So dont beat yourself up.

Being shameful is exactly what your mind wants you to be, so you can keep putting those chemicals into your body. It wants you to depend on something foriegn in order fake those feelings.

I am an addict of sorts. When I am fearful, ashamed, hurt, low self-esteem, depressed...etc. My addict mind says.....drugs.............in any form. Anything to take "me" out of "me". Cigarettes (YES! I said Cigarettes), alcohol, coke, meth etc. It shows no favorite. I must stay mindful of that.

So, keep walking/running and reading at "Why Quit". Do something of the assignments they talk about. And keep us informed.

We do care.

Sorry for rambling.......................

Love,
Deb
