I'd like to welcome each and every one of you who come here to share your experiences with spirituality.

For those of you who might not know me, my name is DeVon, and I am a recovering addict/alcoholic. I have two daughters, and two grandchildren. I will be attending college soon to complete my Associate of Applied Sciences in Medical Information Technology.

I am looking forward to watching this forum grow, and hopefully we can all learn from each other in a spirit of peace and tolerance.

Hi,

I am Becki and live in cold and snowy (today) Minnesota. I am the child of an alcoholic and the child of a child of an alcoholic. I have been married for almost 13 year and we have two wonderful sons. We strive to walk as Jesus wants us to walk, sometimes more successfully than others.

Welcome Becki, and I hope it isn't cold and snowy in MN right now!

It's always good to see others with a common bond here. I am grateful to see families who are striving for a better way of life in spite of alcoholism having been present (((hugs)))

Buenos dias amigos Y amegias

I am Stan and I am from the 1950s and 1960s decades. I have lived in Southern Arizona for 59 years and I sure would appreciate some RAIN!!

Getting more than 2-3 inches of rain a year would be a spiritual miracle but that is not the spiritual experience that I am going to tell.

As a teenager I was out for pleasure and had almost no wisdom. For me life in the 50s and 60s was all about excitement, fun, and pleasure. I did not have a serious bone in my body until I met this cute little gal; I was 18 and she was 15. I started to get strong feeling for her which was against my attitude of stay single and be free. Long story short is this. I fell for her and other things developed and I tried to run away. I was in turmoil and got serious and prayed the first prayer that I can remember. I basically told God that I was in trouble and could He get me out of trouble. How is that for a prayer with great spiritual wisdom?

God answered my prayer and I have been married to that cute little gal since 1968; you can do the math. We have three children and we are all doing very well accept my youngest son. He has been using illegal drugs since 1994. Although God owes me nothing I am hopeful that He will show once again some mercy and grace for my son. I think that spirituality is very important in a crisis and we are in one now.

I also hope to get strong enough spiritually that I honor God no matter the outcome of any of my crises. My friend TenderheartsKS (DeVon) is an inspiration to me and is helping me to get stronger. I know one of the reasons for her getting involved in this forum is so that we all help each other get stronger.

Stan

Stan I am so pleased you have joined us here! I look forward to your sharing on spirituality in your life!

I appreciate you getting the ball rolling in the forums you are moderating. I hope you don't mind but I made your intro posts a sticky so they stay at the top of the boards for newcomers to see.

Hello everyone! My name is Katie and I currently live in the rainy state of Arkansas. Stan, I wished I could send you some of our rain

I am 37 years old and just starting to grow up a little. It is simply amazing how with age comes widsom!

My hero is my grandmother. She is 85 years old and plays games daily and attends college courses to keep her mind young. She has, for as long as I can remember, encourage me to go to Al-anon...........finally many years later.......I have now gone to my second meeting and now understand why I have always considered my grandmothers actions as heroic..........she lives by the book "One Day At A Time"

My husband and I have six wonderful children. We are the Brady Bunch with three girls and three boys.

I am a very spiritual person and I personally believe I am nothing without "God". God has blessed me in so many ways.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Hi! I'm Penelope, I am SO glad to see my friend Stan here (As well as my other friends - but I haven't talked to Stan in a LONG TIME..)

I'm a recovering addict from California - I live in the Sierras near Yosemite - not the beach, and not in the parts of California that everyone thinks about when they think, "California."

Without spirituality, there is no recovery for me.

Thank you DeVon for inviting me to your forum!
